Northeast Texas Christian Filmmaker's Workshop Review of the Day
|
Experienced award-winning producer
Charlie Holland then gave a wonderful
presentation on the basics of video
production and how to make "highly
effective" videos.

We also learned how important the story is to a successful film.
We later saw and discussed the film, a Parable, by Amy and Andrew Smith, which was also shown at the SAICFF.

On Saturday, February 4,
2006, individuals and
families mostly from
Northeast Texas, but also
from hundreds of miles
away gathered at Bethel
Barnhouse in Greenville to
learn about making films
that honor our Lord and
spread His messages. As a
result, we not only
received wonderful
instruction, but explored
with families near and far
ways to help each other
learn and work together to
change our culture for
Christ.

After an opening prayer, the day began with instruction from VideoTex, a video business
in Dallas, Texas, including many basics about equipment and production mechanics.
Michael Relihan of
VideoTex described the
kinds of equipment and
software currently
available for video
production.
VideoTex also provided a weath of
material material, including tips for
shooting great videos and basic
production values, and a number of
catalogs and brochures describing
different products. Both Michael Relihan
and Charlie Holland remained after their
presentations to visit individually with
students. We are very grateful to the
people at VideoTex for all of their time
and effort.
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that
worketh in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ
Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
We came away encouraged that it is possible to
write an edifying and valuable screenplay for a
successful Christian film.
Fortunately, local
Christian author of books,
novels and screenplays
James H. Pence. was
there to give us a
wonderful lesson on
Screenwriting from a
Novelist's Perspective,
which covered the
mechanics of story.
All in all, we were thankful for the time of instruction and fellowship, and have received
many encouraging comments about the value of this workshop for others. May all that we
do bring Glory and Honor to our Lord.
